... of the Week
Album: Sheep Dogs - Learn & Burn
These guys are straight outta the early 70's. Sprinks nailed it, saying they could have provided the soundtrack to Dazed and Confused. There are also a few tracks that sound influenced by the Let it Be era Beatles.
I've embedded their myspace page. Check out the guitar solo at 2:15 or so of the title track.
Song: B. Dylan - Ballad of a Thin Man. From Highway 61.
Some of my favorite word play of his in the second verse (1:20).

#1. Rebellion (Lies) - Arcade Fire (45)
2. Wake Up - AF (35)
3-10. All songs from King of Limbs (25 - 30)
11. Kettering - The Antlers (23)
12. Monster - Cane West (20)
13. Blue as Your Blood - The Walkmen (15)
14. The Sickness - DJ Signify (12)
15. Soft Parade - The Doors (10)
Did you guys know that When the Levee Breaks is a cover? Sort of, the original version is in the public domain and sounds (obviously) nothing like Zeppelin's version.

Jim James solo
My Morning Jacket Frontman Has Almost Finished Solo Album
By Andrew Tijs

Just before My Morning Jacket release their new album, frontman Jim James has spoken about his solo debut.
According to The A.V. Club, James is “80 percent done” on his solo album, which has a projected release date of early 2012.
It’s his first official solo album, not counting the 2009 EP of George Harrison covers Tribute To under the moniker Yim Yames.
He described the album to The A.V. Club as “a comfortably lounging around the house thing, doing whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I just love playing all sorts of different instruments, so I just wanted to be able to do that, and mess around with whatever I wanted to."
He also admits that the songs could well be performed by My Morning Jacket, but that a mysterious “genetic code” within the tunes means “They tell me they want to be on a solo record.”
In the meantime, the rootsy folk stars release their follow-up to 2008’s top ten charting Evil Urges, the band’s sixth album Circuital, on May 31.

Best Recommendations of All Time?
After getting some credit for bringing MMJ to some of you, I started thinking about where a lot of my music selection was birthed.
So, the music recommendations with the most impact on my catalog:
All time greats:
Mr. Trabba Trabba - Radiohead
DLane - Arcade Fire
DLane - KOL
Sprinks - Coldplay
Sprinks - The National
Sprinks - Sigur Ros
Q - Wilco
Brinks / DL - The Walkmen
Q - "Let's go to Bonnaroo."
Driving around in Dunny's car in high school also played a pretty big role.
I am sure that I am missing a few and there are more recent recs that are definitely worthy of mention, but that I'll leave off for now.
- Bobby Sprinkler's list up there looks homosexual, doesn't it?

Song: MMJ, Tyrone
"Call Tyrone
And tell him come on help you get your shit
Oh call Tyrone
But you can't use my phone..."
I stumbled across a MMJ Live 2000 album that DL burnt me a while back. The album includes One Big Holiday, The Bear, etc., but this song ended up on repeat. Has to be one of the coolest covers around.
Album: Florence + the Machine, Lungs
The enclosed song is Cosmic Love. She can definitely sing. The album is really courtesy JoeFlex, I think, to give credit where it's due.
