At times they sound so in tune with one another that the record starts to feel like a concept album, like a time capsule crafted by the trio of rock ‘n roll troubadours to document their rise to fame.

from some lincoln star journal:
Middle Brother, "Middle Brother": Middle Brother is John McCauley of Deer Tick, Matt Vasquez of Delta Spirit and Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, an indie alt.country, rock 'n' roll supergroup that lives up to that designation on its great self-titled debut album.
Sounding like the Gear Daddies on the harmony-filled, hangover lament opener "Daydreaming" and John Lennon on the stately ballad "Theater," Middle Brother rocks and rambles, telling stories of a "good girl who'll wear a black bra" ("Blue Eyes") looking for attention any way possible (the title cut) and of life on the road, ("Theater," "Mom and Dad").
You've gotta love any band that cops a classic Replacements song "Portland" with its signature phrase ("it's too late to turn back, here we go") and and via a smokes-and-drinks countryish shuffle makes it work. And, like the 'Mats, they can rock 'n' roll with the best of them, blasting and swinging through "Me, Me, Me." This one's sure to be on my best of 2011 list. Here's hoping it's not just a one-off for the trio.
Trabs:
"Great album, even tul might like it."
